SENIOR SIGNING DAY PERMISSION SLIPS

Senior Signing Day is around the corner! All students in grades 8-10 were recently sent home with a permission slip for parents to sign, to confirm that they have permission to attend Senior Signing Day. Students must turn in the signed permission slips BY MONDAY MAY 9th. Failure to turn in the form will result in them not being able to join the trip for Senior Signing Day.  

 

22-23 REGISTRATION FOR NEW STUDENTS 

All families who received an offer for a new student starting at Northline for the 22-23 school year MUST COMPLETE ONLINE REGISTRATION BY MAY 1ST to secure their student’s seat.  

 

The following registration documents must be emailed or brought to the front office BY MAY 13TH:  

 

  • Social Security Card 
  • Proof of Residency (electricity, water, gas, or lease/mortgage), from the past 30 days.  

 

  • NOTE: If the bill is not under your name, you will need to take that bill to a notary along with an affidavit form to be signed (English and Spanish affidavit form are attached to this email).  

 

  • Birth Certificate 
  • Shot Record 
  • Parent/Guardian ID 
  • Final Report Card (Must indicate promotion) – You may not receive this document until the end of the school year, we will be requesting it around that time.

9TH GRADE ONLY: END OF COURSE EXAMS 

All 9th grade students will take their Algebra 1 End of Course Exam on Tuesday, May 10th, and Biology End of Course Exam on Wednesday, May 11th. Students must pass these exams in order to graduate high school.  Students must arrive at school by 8:30 a.m., bring their charged laptop and charger, and be well-rested. Please ensure your student attends school on these days. There will be make up testing on Friday, May 13th.

 

6TH- 8TH ONLY: STAAR EXAMS 

All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will take their Reading STAAR exam on Monday May 16th, and Math STAAR Exam on Tuesday May 17th. Only 8th grade students will take their Science STAAR exam on Wednesday May 18th and Social Studies STAAR exam on Thursday, May 19th.  Students must arrive at school by 8:30 a.m., bring their charged laptop and charger, and be well-rested. Please ensure your student attends school on these days. There will be make up testing on Friday, May 20th.

https://www.wonderworkshouston.org/ - Houston is back and offering programs at Rice University and the University of Houston this summer. They offer programs for those interested in Architecture, Art History, Fiction/Creative Writing, Filmmaking, Nonfiction/Journalism, Politics/Law/Government, Theater, College Access Workshop. If you are interested in these fields of study, this is for you! Take a look at the link above!

The program offers full-tuition vouchers to a limited number of students. Although applications remain open until May 15, they sometimes run out of tuition waivers as early as Spring Break, so apply early! Requirements: Entering 10,11, or 12th grade 3.0 GPA High level of achievement in core subjects.
